The last few weeks we have gone through these steps in SPRING cleaning.
S-sort
P-pare down
R-recycle, reuse, re purpose
I-identify locations for your sorted and pared down items

Today we will look at:

N-Now is the time to find containers and label

If you like to shop, now is the time but only for containers! You have found locations for your items so now you must find containers to fit the space. That is why container shopping is near the end of the SPRING cleaning process.

First, shop at home! After sorting and paring down, you may have containers that will work for you. Depending on the look you want to achieve, you may be able to use cardboard boxes for some items. Plastic bins are available in a wide range of sizes and colors. Color code your items: Fall decor in an orange bin, Christmas in a red or green bin, spring items in a yellow bin.  If you want more of a decorative look, use baskets or cloth cubes. Storage containers can be functional as well as beautiful.

After all of your work so far, you need to label so you know what is inside. Think about that as you purchase or find containers. How will you label them? Sticky labels work on plastic but not on baskets. A hanging label will work on a basket. There are chalkboard labels, magnetic labels, colorful labels and plain labels. You will save time looking for items now that they are labeled and organized.
